I saw them on Saturday Night Live and loved all the songs. I heard a live recording of a contemporary concert from , I think, Peter Gabriel's first solo tour, in which he covered "All Day And All Of The Night". In the fall, a friend played me "Kinks Kronikles", and I said, "My god, where has this band been all my life? They're musically almost as good as The Beatles, and their lyrics are WAY better!" Having bought all their records since then, I can understand why many fans might feel that the performances are a bit anonymous, and the production a bit generic, compared to their previous, highly distinctive work. But I cannot, in my heart of hearts, begrudge them doing what they needed to do to finally make some real money and get some popular acclaim. They deserved some rewards. And a lot of the compositions were still great. Gosh, I miss The Kinks.Mrs. Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10406528728746538232noreply@blogger.com
