News, Views and Music Issue 131 (Top Five) Shorty Award Interviews

As you may have read, we’ve put ourselves up for a multi-media award. After all, what other site offers 240-odd reviews of 10,000 words, a twitter feed, a facebook group and a series of Youtube videos starring drunken and singing dogs for free? If you like what you’ve read then please nominate us at in either the ‘music’ ‘fansite’ or ‘youtube star’ categories – it should only take a few seconds if you have your own twitter feed to log on with. Please vote if only for the following two reasons 1) It will help us advertise the site if people see us high in a list of ‘nominees’  and 2) Justin Bieber is currently at #1 in the music section – and we have to stop him!!!  (The Spice Girls aren’t far away either!) To advertise our ‘nomination’ we at the AAA have put together a special interview (as requested by ‘Shorty’) which in lieu of any other good ideas this week we thought we’d reprint. It’s all a bit focussed on our twitter feed, as they’re the main sponsors of the award, so remember you can follow us on twitter at @alansarchives. First up, here’s my interview, as CEO (and general dogsbody) at Alan’s Album Archives – then it’s Youtube stars Bingo and Max and finally, our resident ewok ninja (in case you don’t know, these are imaginary creatures who have broken through from a parallel universe to live in Mike ‘The Face Of Bo’s closet and are always causing mischief!):

with Alan Pattinson (@alansarchives)

What's your best tweet?

I did enjoy comparing Nick Clegg to Nelson, the fox from ‘Mongrels’ as ‘Britain’s best fictional character’. Bingodoghic does the best tweets though

Everyone! And get visiting my site while you're about it: it's, visit us now!

Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?

Only by accident. The more to follow the merrier in my view.

Why should we vote for you?

Because I'm plugging my site, hang on, because if you share a passion for 1960s and 70s music I can help with your symptoms

What inspires you to tweet?

Music, madness, insanity, insincerity, injustice, inhumanity and daily events in my life that are so random I just have to share them

@VelaDeadRaven @bingodoghic (when he's not too drunk to forget his password!) and @ewokninjas, for that surreal in-joke factor

What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?

Why should people follow you?

Our music site at, which has more writing than a boring science text book, but far more laughs

I take a long slow lazy look through the inner workings of my mind, fall asleep, turn on the telly and steal something funny by somebody else

Why'd you start tweeting?

To plug my website ( That and to keep an eye on what Bingo tweets when he is drunk!
